Description

Acrylates are salts, esters, and conjugate bases of acrylic acid.  The acrylate ion is the anion CH2=CHCOO−

The term acrylate refers to a chemical group consisting of a carbon–carbon double bond bonded to an ester functional group –COOR (where R is the rest of the molecule not included in the functional group).
